As RFID technology evolves into accepted standards and becomes more affordable, the engineers at A3 Technologies are often asked by potential clients if RFID is compatible with their Warehouse Management System (WMS).
The answer is, of course, maybe.
WMS packages collect data, whether from scanned barcodes or manual entry at a keyboard. RFID is simply another type of data with its own format; however, most RFID readers and their external interfaces aren’t standardized yet. The reader from Vendor #1 doesn’t speak the same language as the reader from Vendor #2; and yet both must somehow talk to the WMS package. Since most WMS packages aren’t “Plug and Play”, some manual configuration and data conversion is often required.
A3 Technologies works with Vendor #1 and Vendor #2 and can recommend the specific RFID technology and hardware provider to make the integration as fast, easy, and reliable as possible.
